First World War Research

As we approach the centennial commemorations of the First World War, interest in the war service of relatives is increasing. Research can be frustrating. This page on the Blacker’s Boys website will help those researching soldiers who fought in the First World War.

Please contact me if you need help with research or have an interest in the First World War, in particular the men who served with Princess Victoria’s Royal Irish Fusiliers.

Gallantry Awards and Medals

I am also keen to help those who wish to research the medals earned by relatives – if I cannot find the details of an award I can help by telling you how to contact the organisation or society that might be able to trace an award.
